SUNY - State University of New York

The SUNY Office of Library and Information Services (OLIS) is responsible for coordinating library systems/applications and procurement of University-wide library resources. These activities are assumed under the project name of SUNYConnect.

Our current shared technology base consists of 60 campuses utilizing Aleph 500 and SFX.

Our office is small, with a full time staff of nine. We focus primarily on project management and training. Technology support is provided by the Information Technology Exchange Center (ITEC) located at Buffalo State College. ITEC provides shared server support for the majority of our sites participating in the project. Library personnel are generally responsible for ongoing application management. This distributed approach reflects the SUNY culture of campus autonomy.
